I must be missing something really dumb, but I can't figure out why "Physical read IO requests" would be higher than "Physical read total IO requests." For instance:

physical read IO requests 380,456,786 10,560.10 1,041.47
physical read total IO requests 230,868,337 6,408.07 631.98

Even the documentation says that "physical read IO request" is supposed to be a subset of "total."

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Patrick

Welcome to the forum.
Please read the OraFAQ Forum Guide and How to use [code] tags and make your code easier to read.
Indent the code, use code tags and align the columns in result.

Also always post your Oracle version, with 4 decimals (query v$version), as often solution depends on it.

Provide the query you used.

There were a lot of queries - this was an AWR report over 10 hours.

I meant the query that gave the result you posted.

Or post the extract of the AWR report which shows these figures.

I have attached the portion of the AWR that has the relevant info. If more is needed let me know, and I will work on anonymizing the rest.

The part I have a hard time understanding is the physical IO requests:

physical read IO requests..........380,456,786
physical read total IO requests...230,868,337
