Dear all,

i'm looking for a solution to convert existing Oracle Developer 6 - Form Builder program to Web based application (Oracle JDeveloper).
Can you please advise me on this matter.

a) What kind of convertion software in order to convert Oracle Developer 6 to Web Based application system?
b) Do we need to rewrite the previous coding or just recompile our program?

Thank you.

Regards,
oracle user

Do you wish to use Oracle Forms in 3-tier or do you want to convert your application to JDeveloper?

have a look at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/web.1013/b13593/undtldev010.htm

Basically, the forms reside on an Application Server and the users invoke them from within a browser. This means that the forms do not have to be distributed to your users but run from a central location.

Thanks David for your help and clearing our concepts, I am also interested in this topic and want to convert my 6i application to browser base.

1) May I need to convert my application into 10g?
2) Do we require any configuration of application server? if yes, then please inform.

furthermore, this is my first conversation about web base application and I am fully interested to run application on browser therefore I requested you and other guys to please try to help me in this regards.

I would always recommend that a new user use the latest version of Forms.

Download from the Oracle webiste, read the installation manual which is in the 'root' directory of the 'zip' file, and follow its instructions.

If you are running a business application then work with others in your group to 'pilot' the application by using the Developer Server which comes with the Develoepr Suite, and then work throughthe Application Server installation guide on how to get the system working for many users.
