Hi all,
I'm not a DBA, but I've been asked to get Oracle 7.3.4 running on an HPUX box. I'm not allowed to upgrade to a newer version so I must deal with this one. When I go into svrmgrl and try starting the db, I get:
ORA-05901: Message 5901 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=ORA
Additional information: 4
I tried 'oerr ora 05901', but it doesn't come back with anything.
Can anyone help me? I have no manuals and no support. Has anyone seen this message before? Let me know if more info is needed.
Thanks

I figured it out....in case anyone else runs into this problem. There were some kernel parameters that weren't set properly. It seems that the 05901 message isn't a real message (that's why I couldn't find it with oerr).
