You may need to set ORACLE_HOME to your oracle home directory

Just try it!

There are several reasons for this error.
The First Solution is set the oracle sid and try to connect to sqlplus i.e.
c:\>Set oracle_sid<SID NAME>
c:\>Sqlplus /nolog
sqlplus>Connect / as sysdba

Second Solution:-
Go to my computer> right click>properties>Advanced>Environment variables>system variables>New.(Create your Oracle_HOME=SID_NAME)
Then connect to Sqlplus.

Both of the solutions you have proposed will not help the OP.

Create your oracle_home=<oracle_home_directory>

Brian,

As we don't have any news from OP since my answer, I think it was THE answer and it solves his problem.

Michel

Yep...I agree. I just didn't want others to get confused by babai_74_cal's post.
