Hi group

i have installed Oracle 10g R2 10.2.0.1, with windows 2003 std server sp2,

With EM - its connects using sys user

showing first page with

Database Instace Down - Red Arrow Mark Down
Listener Down - Red Arrow Mark Down
Agent Connection to Instance Down - Red Arrow Mark Down

but when i reconfigure listener from NETCA its allow to configure properly, TNS Name configure properly.

LSNRCTL shows listener started and working,

i am able to connect through sql*plus using

sys/password@sid as sysdba
system/password@sid

showing error at EM
Failed to connect to database instance: ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach).

Help appriciated

hi

yes it was there..but i have removed another home, using DBCA, restarted server and this trouble started...

now another problem is shown by EM is

its displays

Database instace is down
EM shows, there is not listener

but i m able to log in by Sys, System and the users credentials..

i have set the reg entry for proper SID (ORACLE_SID = MYSID)
lsnrctl shows listener working
able to log in using SQL plus
tns entry making connection for users
EM administration panel shows all tablespaces, tables, users etc.. all..

so, what is being shown by EM and the way database allow to work on is contradiction..

still EM shows ORA-12505 error..

please help me get it resovled...

hi mohd taj

thanks for your reply..
i have checked the parameters, there is no other names for DB or services..

its matching, i m able to connect using system/mypassword@servicename

now i think the only option is left for me to rebuild the repository, just like to ask whether recreating EM repository will not harm the database.

thanks

Hi,

NOT AT ALL.

but better if you do that work on off peak hours.

emca -config dbcontrol db -repos recreate

Taj
