Hi Experts,

how are you. i am kumar. i got one task today. that is i have a database on solaris 5.8. i need to migrate that database to Linux .

how can i do it? according to my knowledge i can take export(full) and i will import it in to linux database(newly created DB).

is there any simplest way to do it. and document/ link to get complete knowledge on platform migration. could you please send me details...

Welcome to the forum, however you should consider reading the sticky prior to posting.

What version of Oracle are you using?

If you are on less than 10g, then you can consider export/import or Streams. With 10g, you can consider transportable tablespaces.
